Balsa dowels are also very useful when creating strong joins: they can be used to ‘pin’ joins and add extra strength and reliability. The porous nature of Balsa Wood means it accepts stains and finishes readily. Balsa works well with a wide range of adhesives, in particular glues such as PVA glue and wood glue.
